Alberto Di Folco: an incredible year to the next
Alberto Di Folco participate in the GT World Challenge Europe next year. The Roman pilot will make this commitment with a leading team, Boutsen VDS, born of the union between Boutsen and Marc VDS, the partner of Di Folco, ready to return to GT at the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS Evo I.
This opens a new chapter for Di Folco, who will be the official driver of the team in a project related to the cars of the brand with four rings, while leaving the Lamborghini door wide open. With the latter, he has so far followed an extraordinary course which has led him to become a GT3 Junior driver of the team Saint-Agata Bolognase and to collect many national and international successes.
It is precisely with Lamborghini that Di Folco fought this year for the title of the Italian championship of Gran Turismo Sprint until the very last round, winning most of the poles (three in total) as well as three victories with the team Imperial Racing.
« I am honoured to have the opportunity to run with Marc VDS next season. They have won the 24 hours of Spa in the past and have a team in Moto2. The fact that they chose me as the team's official pilot to re-enter the world of GT competitions is a confidence mark that touches me »explained Di Folco. « It was a unique opportunity to seize. I know the history of this team and the value of the people who will surround me. That's why I'm convinced I can aim high from the beginning. On the other hand, not only do I thank Lamborghini, but I can say without a doubt that I will remain bound to the Bologese manufacturer of Sant-Agata, perhaps even by 2024, because I already have many beautiful projects that I hope to be able to achieve. And a special thank you to Enzo Gagliardi, Lamborghini Geneva and all my sponsors, who supported me from the beginning and believed in my potential.
Alberto Di Folco will enter the 2023 season with maximum commitment. A commitment which, however, might not be the only one for the Roman pilot.
