ENERGY
The power supply is electric, not gasoline. The electrical systems offer high efficiency and allow to recover kinetic energy and generate power. To exploit the opportunities of electric drive, the accumulation system must be symmetrical and dedicated to power, to ensure high performance and the best energy recovery possible. Lamborghini develops an innovative supercapacitor, able to reduce the gap with conventional batteries in terms of energy density.
INNOVATION OF MATERIALS
Lamborghini's objectives include reducing weight and increasing the availability of electrical energy through the use of composite structural materials for the accumulation of electrical energy as a rechargeable battery. The aim is to improve nanomaterial technology by disseminating nanocharges in CFK panels capable of storing electrical energy and composing bodywork and vehicle components.
VEHICLE ARCHITECTURE AND MOTOPROPULATOR GROUP
Among the advantages of an electric propulsion system is the possibility of feeding a system composed of electrical elements through the use of cables. Lamborghini intends to use this opportunity to generate torque directly at the wheel level. The challenge lies in the creation of a technology to increase the power density of the electric motor positioned inside the wheels, until it reaches a level worthy of all-wheel drive supersports, while preserving the unsuspended masses.
SOUND AND EMOTION
Adoption of an electric propulsion system requires defining the new noise that will replace the current V12. An in-depth investigation is needed to assess the advantages of the new powertrain and not neglecting any opportunity to generate the sound of the Terzo Millennio.
